On 09 July 2026, at approximately 22:00 UTC, our hosting provider, IONOS, experienced a hosting infrastructure outage that affected the availability of services hosted on their platform.

As RutoWallet's User API is hosted on IONOS infrastructure, this incident resulted in a disruption to our API services, causing users to experience failed requests, connection timeouts, and temporary service unavailability.

Impact

• User API became unavailable during the outage.

• Authentication and user-related API requests failed.

• Applications dependent on the User API experienced degraded functionality.

• End users were unable to access affected features until service was restored.

Root Cause

The disruption was caused by a hosting infrastructure issue at IONOS. The outage was external to RutoWallet's application and infrastructure and originated from our hosting provider's platform.
